OKLAHOMA CATFISHING
As a 100% disabled Viet Nam Veteran himself, tKish Kape knows first hand the difficulties faced by other disabled Veterans. We honor all Veterans for the sacrifices that they have made to keep our Great Nation FREE.
Any DISABLED VETERAN is welcome to schedule a catfishing trip with us free with two paid guests. We go one step beyond and make our boat availible to take any ambulatory 100% DISABLED VETERAN for the catfishing trip of his life at NO CHARGE, anytime.
Unfortunately, at this time, we are unable to accomodate non-ambulatory Veterans on our boat. We hope to procure a pontoon boat and outfit it with sturdy rails and ramps so that wheelchair-bound Veterans can enjoy a freedom that so many of us take for granted.
We are currently entertaining donations of funds and actively seeking the donation of a pontoon boat with a reliable engine to provide this service. Eligible Veterans can contact us through this website or through the Activities or Transportation Director at the Muskogee Veterans Hospital, Muskogee, OK.
A lot of fishermen are beginning to realize that catfish are really hard fighting game fish, capable of reaching very large tackle destroying proportions. Record Bluecats and Flathead are showing up in the newspapers, and some very nice channelcats are being brought to net.
A bass fisherman may work for months to catch one fish over ten pounds, but the regular catfisherman knows a ten pounder might hit his bait every time he goes fishing.
We encourage the harvest of only legal sized catfish (channels and blues over 12 inches, flathead over 20 inches) and we practice catch-and-release with all trophy catfish over 10 pounds after snapping a photo. This insures that our sport is passed on to our children and grandchildren.
We fish out of a very comfortable and safe ride on our PREDATOR 196 Center Console, complete with VHS, AM/FM, Garmin 240 depth finder, Garmin GPS, oxygen supplied bait tank and live wells.
